One of the historical Mughal Gardens, Pinjore Garden was built in the 17th century by a renowned Mughal ruler Aurangzeb. It is called the “Shish Mahal” (palace of glass), which is adjoined by a romantic "Hawa Mahal" (airy Palace). For a while I was transported back in time as I could visualise the dancers and singers entertaining the residents in the evenings. The Jal Mahal at the centre of a water pool is well lit. The residential palaces in the initial level have been tastefully transformed into a hotel and restaurant. This chute, called chini-khana, has niches in which camphor lamps used to burn at night and bouquets of fragrant flowers were kept during the day.

The gardens are lush green and well maintained. The garden comprises of 7 different terraces having interesting architectural constructions to click pics and videos. The place used to be a garden built during the rule of the Mughal Emperor, Aurangzeb.However, not very well maintained now. Nice place for a weekend/week days trip with family.The lush green gardens are spread on five levels.
